ECON 410 - Seminar in Gender and Development A seminar that examines the lives of women and men in developing countries and how the process of economic development affects them differently. Coursework begins from the household and covers topics on health, education and work options. Papers covered include seminal work that established gender differences in outcomes, as well as more recent perspectives on these differences. Students then cover papers on the origins of gender inequality, and end by studying the impact of decreasing gender inequality, especially when inequality decreases in leadership.
