ENST 250 - Environmental Policy Analysis Explores the theories and methods of policy analysis as applied to U.S. environmental policymaking. Policy analysis is an applied social science that draws on diverse methods to generate information designed to be used in political settings and inform policy decisions. Students explore specific environmental issues such as pollution regulation, wildlife and ecosystem management, and climate/energy issues. Students learn, among other skills, to: define problems using data to describe environmental change, construct policy alternatives using various analytical techniques, define evaluative criteria, assess the alternatives, and draw conclusions.
