EDUC 310 - Racial Capitalism and Education Policy Consideration of the past 40 years of American neoliberal education policy with attention to the political, racial, economic, and ideological underpinnings of debate and scholarship. More formally, students will embark on a critical examination of how market-based logics embolden and legitimate policies that recapitulate the racial violences of the past and the effects this has on contemporary understandings of “the public” and the institutions meant to uphold and further democratic ideals.
