ECON 344 - Public Economics Examines the “proper” role of government in a market economy by looking at both the expenditure and the taxation sides. Topics on the expenditure side include market failure, public goods, and cost-benefit analysis; on the taxation side, notions of tax equity, principles of tax incidence, efficient taxation, and the tax structure in the United States are addressed.
