CORE C176 - Indigenous North America Provides an overview of Indigenous people in what is now North America—also known as Turtle Island. Case studies link specific Indigenous histories to broader Indigenous communities in North America. Works from community members, storytellers, educators, and elders expose students to Indigenous voices, which highlight agency, autonomy, and the interconnections between past and present. Specifically, students learn the importance of ways of knowing to Indigenous identity and decolonization.
