BIOL 201 - Evolution This course uses the study of evolutionary biology to explore the collaborative process of scientific research, the critical reading of primary literature, the design and implementation of experimental studies, quantitative skills, and the interpretation and communication of research results. Like all 200-level courses, this course focuses on the “process” of exploring biology. The course also provides for a study of how evolutionary theory illuminates and unifies our vast and growing knowledge of the biological world and affects many aspects of our lives. Emphasis is on the observations and experiments that have led to our current understanding of evolutionary processes and on the dynamic nature of evolutionary research.
