SOCI 228 - Immigration This course is an introduction to international migration, with a focus on post-World War II migration. Geographically, the course focuses on immigration to the United States from Latin America, where the bulk of post-1965 immigrants come from. The course begins by introducing students to basic concepts and approaches related to migration studies. It further examines different stages in the migration process, including the processes of migration, the adaption/incorporation of immigrants in U.S. society, and the future “assimilation” of their children.
