EDUC 316 - Moral Development and Education An examination of major theories of moral development, their philosophic and psychological premises, and their implications for educational practice. Readings include works by Jean Piaget, Lawrence Kohlberg, and Carol Gilligan. One focus of the course is the connections between theoretical ideas about moral development and both the hidden and explicit curriculum in schools. The course includes assignments in interviewing, a theoretical paper, and student presentations and critiques.
