RELG 276 - Psychology of Religion Examines the ways in which religion has been understood from a variety of psychological perspectives, and inquiries into the merit of these various approaches. By surveying a wide range of psychological literature on the subject, students strive to get a better sense of the ways psychology has understood religion, humanity, and the ways in which people find meaning in the world. Ultimately students consider why human beings are religious and what psychology has to offer in answering this question.
