ENGL 316 - Banned Books A study of books that have been called obscene, irreligious, explicit, or offensive. Explore the controversies that have surrounded these complex works of literature and the historical and sociopolitical episodes that have led to acts of censorship. Writers to be studied may include Sherman Alexie, Alison Bechdel, Juno Dawson, Toni Morrison, Art Spiegelman, and Alice Walker.
