EDUC 204 - Child and Adolescent Development An introduction to theory and research in physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and moral development during the periods typically defined as childhood and adolescent years. The focus is on the nature of interaction between the individual and their social, physical, and cultural environments. Educating autobiographical knowledge is an important aspect of the course, where students are asked to engage with and reexamine aspects of their own upbringing. Students are encouraged to investigate and contest theories about child and adolescent development, connecting these to ideas about how schools do and should educate.
