HIST 368 - China, the Great Wall, and Beyond (AS) Examines key questions in military, cultural, social, and political history in China from 1200 to 1750. In particular, students compare foreign peoples who conquered China, like the Mongols and Manchus, with the last “native” dynasties in Chinese history. Students consider styles of rulership, the impact of war and the military on society, developments in intellectual life, and international relations of the most populous country in the world. (AS)
