Affirmative Action Policy
It is the policy of Colgate University not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of their race, color, creed, religion, age, sex, pregnancy, national origin, marital status, disability, protected Veteran Status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, status as victims of domestic violence and stalking, familial status, and all other categories covered by law. This policy shall apply to all employment actions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, upgrading, promotion, transfer, demotion, layoff, recall, termination, rates of pay or other forms of compensation and selection for training at all levels of employment. Student requests for accommodations should be directed to the Director of Academic Support and Disability Services (The Center for Learning, Teaching, and Research, 315-228-7375).
Policy on Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
Colgate seeks to provide students with disabilities with the support services and other reasonable accommodations needed to ensure equal access to the programs and activities of the university. All accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis. A student requesting accommodations is asked to provide appropriate documentation to the director of academic support and disability services.
Title IX Compliance
In compliance with requirements under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Colgate University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs and activities.
