ENGL 437 - Literature and Culture A study of seminal writings from the 100-year period between Carlyle’s Sartor Resartus (1834) and Ezra Pound’s Guide to Kulchur (1938). The course considers how the notion of culture has informed understanding of the nature and purpose of art and literature.
