EDUC 226 - Introduction to Research Methods in Education


A study of the fundamental concepts and techniques needed for qualitative research in educational settings. The course covers topics such as research design and question development, entry into the field, techniques for interviewing and participant observation, methods for recording qualitative data, data analysis, and presentation of findings. Examples of qualitative studies in education are read and discussed. Students are required to design and conduct field-based studies.
